Editing room — cut clips and add sound to finish one video
The editing room is where you trim the video clips made in Production, reorder them, add sound, and export a single finished video. Open it from [Editing room] in the project menu. Editing is available on desktop screens (600px wide or more).
Edits — several per episode
Your work is saved as edits. One episode can have several edits, such as the main cut and a teaser. Pick the episode to edit from the episode list in the left sidebar (in the editing room, clicking an episode doesn't take you to the script).
- The first time you open it, a new edit is created with that episode's shots placed on track 1 in
story order. If you made the same clip several times, the one marked Final in the archive is used, otherwise Kept, otherwise the most recent.
- When you come back, the edit you opened last is restored.
- [New] keeps the current edit in the edit list and starts a new edit with the episode's shots laid
out again. [Edits] opens another edit of this episode (newest first).
- Edit name — if left empty it's saved as "Untitled edit_YYYYMMDD". If an automatic name already
exists in the same episode, (2), (3) is added. Names you choose yourself may repeat. The exported file uses the edit name.
- Changes save automatically. Undo (⌘Z) and redo (⇧⌘Z) cover every action in this editing session.
Media — the left panel
The [Video] tab groups the selected episode's shots by scene, with videos you uploaded collected separately under "Uploads". Change "Episode" at the top to take shots from another episode (the edit you're working on stays the same). The [Audio] tab collects uploaded music and sound effects.
- Drag an item onto a timeline track to place a clip there. One generated video is one clip.
- Uploads: video mp4 or mov up to 50MB per file, audio mp3 or wav up to 20MB per file. Whoever
uploads a file vouches for the right to use it. Uploaded files aren't cleaned up automatically and are deleted together with the project.
- Use an upload's ⋯ menu to rename or delete it. Deleting a file that's used on the timeline also
removes it from the timeline.
Timeline
You can have up to 8 tracks, starting with 1. Tracks have no fixed type — they become video or sound tracks depending on what you put on them. Add tracks with [+ Add track] and delete one by right-clicking an empty spot on it (except track 1). When several videos overlap in time, the upper track covers the lower one, and all sound is mixed.
| To do this | How |
|---|---|
| Play · pause | Space, or the play button in the toolbar |
| Move one frame | ← → (pauses if playing) |
| Move the playhead | Click or drag the ruler |
| Split | Select a clip, put the playhead inside it, then [Split] or S |
| Delete (leave a gap) | [Delete] or Delete |
| Ripple delete | Right-click a clip → [Ripple delete], or Shift+Delete |
| Close a gap | Right-click a gap → [Close gap] |
| Move · trim | Drag a clip to move it (to other tracks too); drag its ends to shorten it |
| Select several | Click with Shift or ⌘ held |
| Zoom | The zoom control on the right of the toolbar, and [Fit] |
Delete, ripple delete, close gap, and move apply only to that clip's track; other tracks don't move. When moving or dragging an end, clips snap to other clip edges and to the playhead.
Clip properties — the left panel's second view
Select a clip and the left panel switches to its properties. Clicking another clip just changes the target; [← Video] or an empty spot takes you back to the list.
- Speed 50–200% — changes the clip's length, and the later clips on the same track move by the
same amount.
- Volume 0–200% — can't be changed on clips without sound.
- Fit — Fill (default) fills the screen and crops what overflows. Fit shows the whole picture and
fills the rest with the background color.
- With several clips selected, only shared properties appear, and differing values show as "Mixed".
- Clips show their speed ("0.5x"), muted, and missing-file states.
Settings and export
In [Settings], choose the export resolution (720p or 1080p) and the background color. The canvas ratio is set when the project is created and can't be changed. The default resolution follows the highest source resolution on the timeline; picking a higher one shows a note that it's larger than the source (quality won't improve). The frame rate follows the sources, using the highest when they differ.
Press [Export] to make the video on our servers (no credits are used).
- It's disabled while the timeline is empty. If some media can't be loaded, the export doesn't start
and tells you how many — clean up the "Missing file" clips and export again.
- Closing the progress window doesn't stop the export; follow its progress in "Task status" at the
bottom right.
- You can export one video at a time. If another export is running, try again when it finishes.
- When it's done, use [Download]; the result also stays in the archive.
What you can do in the archive
The archive collects the images and videos made on the production screen, per project. Click a result to view it large or play it, and you can download files or organize them with the kept, final, and hidden marks.
Filter with two rows: mark and type. The top row is the mark (All, Candidate, Kept, Final, Hidden) and the bottom row is the type (Video, Shot, Character, Location, Prop, Other). The two combine, so you can view, for example, "Final ∩ Video" — the place to gather only finished videos, or pick out only character sheets. The type row shows only what actually exists in that project, and the number beside each is its count. Videos are grouped under "Video" whatever they were made for.
You can view in scene order. Switch with [Newest] / [Scene order] on the right. The default is newest first; choosing [Scene order] lays results out S#1 → S#2 → …, and within the same scene by clip order (1/3 → 2/3). In collaborations where several people each make their own part, the order things were made in drifts from story order, so this view is better for watching straight through. Results with no scene (characters, locations, props, and so on) are gathered at the end. If no result has a scene record, this row doesn't appear.
Each card is labeled with what it was made for — for example "Han Jiho · Master sheet", "Bronze key · Prop", or "Athletes' village locker room · Night". Items made on the production screen are labeled by scene and clip ("S#03 · Clip 2/3"). Names are attached automatically from the record at generation time, so there's nothing to fill in; results with no record of what they were made for show no name line.
To rename one yourself, press [Rename] in the card's ⋯ menu. Save it empty to go back to the automatic name. When you copy a result to another project, the name you gave it goes along.
Production results made before this feature arrived on 2026-09-11 have no scene or clip record, so their name shows only up to the task name, or doesn't appear at all.
