FAQ · Troubleshooting
It says "Generation blocked"
If [Create] in production won't respond, the reason appears next to the button. Common causes are an empty prompt, a missing start image that the selected model requires, or character or location assets that aren't ready yet. Fill in the missing items shown on screen and check again. The order for preparing characters and locations is in the Planning assets guide.
My character looks different in every result
Check in this order:
- Did you create and approve a master sheet? The approved master is the character reference for generation.
- Did you regenerate the sheet after changing the character definition? (Look for the "needs update" marker.)
- If your story changes a character's outfit or physical state, did you register that look? Matching the scene outfit and the look name
is the surest way; even if the names differ, the look is attached when the physical state or outfit wording in the scene overlaps with the look's state and details.
- Is the style bible filled in? If it's empty, the art style drifts.
If it still drifts and operators have published another image model, try comparing with it. The list of visible models depends on operating settings.
What can I do without an AI key?
Script writing, scene structure, autosave, planning, PDF export, and sending scenes to production as drafts all work without an AI key. The co-writer, episode review, AI polish, and image and video generation need provider keys in the operating environment, and paid features also need you to be signed in and have credits.
When are credits deducted?
After a generation succeeds. Failed or cancelled generations are not charged. Detailed prices are in the Credits and generation settings guide.
What should I look at when a generation fails?
Expand the generation indicator at the bottom right to see the cause and what to do next. It also tells you that no credits were deducted.
- Timeout · unknown cause · limit — a
Try againbutton appears. It reruns with the same settings right there
(for sheets, it may also recover a result left on the server).
- Still generating on the server — this isn't a failure. One image usually takes 1–3 minutes, and only the on-screen
wait time has passed; when it finishes, it appears among completed results in the generation indicator. The Try again button is hidden here because pressing it could make the same thing twice and charge credits twice.
- This model's content policy —
Try againdoes not appear, because sending the same input again gives the same
result. Check what's supported or try another model.
- Your prompt was blocked by the provider's input check — the prompt was judged to contain sensitive wording (nudity,
sexual content, violence, etc.) and was stopped before submission. No credits are charged. Remove that wording from the scene.
- The generated video was discarded by the provider's content check — your prompt passed, but the resulting video was
flagged as sensitive content or a copyright issue. Your credits are refunded. Regenerating the same scene with different wording usually gives the same result, so remove nudity or suggestive staging, or anything evoking a real person, work, or brand, or try a different video model.
- Marked as a real person — real people aren't currently supported. If the character is fictional, click
Unmark as real person in the character tab.
- Judged to be a real person (portrait rights) — some generation services (the Seedance family) don't accept realistic images of people
without asset registration. Check the video asset registration status in the character tab (registered fictional characters pass). Switching to another model that doesn't require asset registration also works. Real people, however, can't be generated with any model — that's a service rule, not a model requirement.
- Preparing the character image for Seedance — the Seedance family only accepts character images after they're registered as assets.
If it's the first time you've attached that character, registration starts the moment you click Create and this request isn't generated (no credits are deducted). It usually finishes within a minute, so try generating again shortly. If the registration request itself failed or this server has no registration settings, we'll tell you — in that case it's faster to switch to a Veo-family model.
- Character reference image rejected in review — unlike the above, this won't clear by waiting. In the character tab's
sheet list, that image also gets a Video rejected badge (check before you go into production). That image will never be passed to Seedance, so open the character the original message points to in the character tab and regenerate the reference image or replace it with another image, then try again (no credits are deducted). If you need to generate right now, switch to a model with no asset registration, such as the Veo family.
You can see the original message from the generation service by hovering over the item in the progress list. On the results screen, we show it right below the notice when the original contains information not in our notice (which character was blocked, or when we couldn't identify the cause).
Where is my writing saved?
When you're signed in, projects and episodes are saved on the server so you can keep writing across devices. Before you sign in, they're saved only in the browser you're using — clearing browser data deletes them, so we recommend signing in.
Can I take my data or delete my account?
Open My profile from the profile menu at the top right to find renaming, your creator profile, a credit summary, and account deletion. You can download your script as a PDF at any time from [Export] on the project home (the episode screen has no export). If you need a copy of all your account data (every project, episode, planning note, and conversation), request it through the support channel. After verification, we'll send it as a JSON file. Deleting your account deletes all creative data (projects, episodes, settings, conversations, generated images, and videos), and this cannot be undone. Credit usage records are kept without personally identifying information for settlement audits.
Can I start a generation and work on something else?
Yes. Images and videos are generated on the server, and you can check progress in the generation indicator at the bottom right. In an operating environment where you're signed in and server jobs are configured, the server keeps generating even if you go to another screen or close the browser, and progress and results load when you come back. In environments where server jobs aren't configured, such as local, it may run differently.
What can I do on mobile?
Mobile (width under 768px) is read-only. You can "view, play, and comment."
- What works — viewing the project list and project home, reading scripts (moving between episodes, outline), reading, writing, and resolving comments,
playing videos, enlarging images, and downloading in the archive, browsing My library, the production task list, progress, and result playback, viewing the asset list and sheets, credit balance and usage history, and exporting script PDFs.
- What you do on desktop — creating a new project, editing scripts, adding and deleting episodes, editing planning, characters, and locations, creating,
approving, and uploading assets, production (prompts, assets, create, cancel), co-writer chat, and organizing and importing in the archive.
The credit balance badge doesn't appear in the mobile top bar — you can't do credit-spending generation or editing on mobile, so it would only take up space. You can see your balance and top up exactly as on desktop by tapping your profile at the top right and going to Credits.
Where editing controls used to be, you'll see a "You can do this on desktop" notice. Turn a tablet to landscape or widen the window to 768px or more and you'll return to the desktop screen immediately — it's decided by screen width, not by whether the device has touch.
How do payments and refunds work?
Top-up packs are paid by card through the Toss Payments checkout. In environments where payments are not yet open, the credits screen shows "Payments coming soon", and you can't top up then. Topped-up credits are valid for 1 year from the payment approval date. Refunds are handled by inquiry and processed after unused credits are reclaimed — credits already used are not refunded because they incur provider costs. The detailed table is in Credits and generation settings.
Is there somewhere to ask right from the screen?
When you're signed in, a [Help] button appears at the bottom right of the screen. Ask how to do something and it answers based on these guides, with source links. If it can't find a basis, it says it doesn't know instead of making something up.
- It costs no credits. Conversations stay only in this browser and aren't saved on the server.
- It's for how-to questions only — the AI co-writer inside your project handles story and dialogue advice.
- It doesn't start the conversation. Clicking "Why is this happening?" on a failed generation card or an on-screen tip opens it with that question.
The button isn't visible before you sign in. In that case, look things up directly in the guide contents.
I'm opening the production screen for the first time. Where do I start?
Open [Help] inside a project and [Tour the production screen] is at the top (it appears anywhere inside a project, such as the project home, planning, assets, or archive, and if you're not on an episode script it moves you to the script to start). [See the workflow] on the home page takes you straight into this tour — in your most recent project with a script, or in a sample project we create if you have none. It puts explanations on top of the actual screen you're looking at and walks you through six steps, from taking a script scene to production and the places where you generate images and video, to where you view the results.
- It doesn't generate anything. The tour never clicks [Create] for you, so it costs no credits.
You'll click twice yourself ([Production], [Send to production]), and both are free actions.
- If you're new, we start from the very first screen. With no projects yet, clicking
[Start your first project] on the home screen skips the title input, creates your first project ("Untitled 1"), and starts the tour in a script with sample scenes. Even if you've seen the tour before, it always starts this way when you have no projects. After the tour, just delete the sample scenes and that project becomes your first project (you can change the title any time).
- When you open the first episode of a screenplay project, we suggest it once (even if the script is empty).
If you choose "Later", we won't ask first again, and you can always view it from Help.
- You can view it again from Help after finishing or quitting midway. Press
Escto close it at any time. - An empty script is fine. At the step where you bring in scenes, we ask whether to add two sample scenes and the
characters and locations in them, and they're added only if you click (if you've already written something, we don't ask). After the tour we ask whether to delete them — if you've edited them in the meantime, we leave them as they are without asking.
- The tour points out where assets connect to the script and production. It shows, in order, that on the assets screen you can check the characters and
locations from your script and generate images, and that those carry over as-is when you take a scene to production (8 steps in total).
- It doesn't appear for web novel (prose) projects or on mobile — the controls it points to aren't on those screens.
